Abstract

    Kendari City deflation in November 2020 was recorded at 0.22 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 104.81. Of the 90 cities, 7 cities experienced deflation and 83 cities experienced inflation. Kendari City was recorded as the city with the deepest deflation and the lowest deflation was recorded in Meulaboh (Aceh Province) and Palopo (South Sulawesi Province) 0.01 percent each with a CPI of 108.02 and 104.21, respectively.
  • Deflation that occurred in Kendari City was caused by a decrease in the price index in the food, beverage and tobacco group by 1.19 percent and in the housing, water, electricity and household fuels group by 0.10 percent. Groups experiencing inflation include the transportation group of 0.79 percent; equipment, tools, and household routine maintenance group 0.41 percent; personal care and other services group 0.31 percent; health group 0.07 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group 0.06 percent; and the clothing and footwear group at 0.02 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group; recreational, sports and cultural groups; and the education group did not experience change / was relatively stable.
  • Commodities contributing to deflation include sugar, tuna / ambu-ambu, rambe fish, bird's eye chilies, kale, spinach, moringa leaves, anchovies, skipjack / hawksbill fish, and fly / benggol.
  • Commodities contributing to inflation include air transportation, cars, shallots, garlic, cooking oil, tissue, shampoo, bottled water, lipstick, and pans.
