Abstract

  • Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which are reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Goods Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
  • Southeast Sulawesi's export value in February 2024 reached US$295.70 million or a decrease of 31.59 percent compared to exports in January 2024 which was recorded at US$432.27 million. On the other hand, the export volume in February 2024 was recorded at 232.00 thousand tons or a decrease of 29.18 percent compared to the export volume in January 2024 which was recorded at 327.61 thousand tons.
  • The import value of Southeast Sulawesi in February 2024 reached US$225.00 million, an increase of 27.93 percent compared to January 2024 or an increase of 47.79 percent compared to February 2023.
  • The import volume in February 2024 was worth 454.32 thousand tons, an increase of 28.49 percent compared to January 2024 or an increase of 55.06 percent compared to February 2023.
  •  The largest increase in the value of imports of goods in February 2024 compared to January 2024 was mineral fuels amounting to US$46.14 million (up 56.71 percent).
