Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which are reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Goods Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
Southeast Sulawesi's export value in June 2024 reached US$304.24 million or down 9.68 percent compared to exports in May 2024 which was recorded at US$336.84 million. Correspondingly, the export volume in June 2024 was recorded at 217.55 thousand tons or a decrease of 7.21 percent compared to the export volume in May 2024 which was recorded at 234.46 thousand tons.
Southeast Sulawesi's import value in June 2024 reached US$220.84 million, an increase of 65.85 percent compared to May 2024 or an increase of 146.52 percent compared to June 2023.
The import volume in June 2024 was worth 404.03 thousand tons, up 60.68 percent compared to May 2024 or up 72.90 percent compared to June 2023.
The largest increase in the value of imports of goods in June 2024 compared to May 2024 was iron and steel amounting to US$55.03 million (up 311.73 percent).
