Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which are reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Goods Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
Southeast Sulawesi's export value in March 2024 reached US$285.20 million or a decrease of 3.55 percent compared to exports in February 2024 which was recorded at US$295.70 million. Correspondingly, the export volume in March 2024 was recorded at 220.02 thousand tons or a decrease of 5.17 percent compared to the export volume in February 2024 which was recorded at 232.00 thousand tons.
The import value of Southeast Sulawesi in March 2024 reached US$182.18 million, down 19.03 percent compared to February 2024 or down 28.66 percent compared to March 2023.
The import volume in March 2024 was worth 604.24 thousand tons, an increase of 33.00 percent compared to February 2024 or an increase of 8.86 percent compared to March 2023.
The largest decrease in the value of imports of goods in March 2024 compared to February 2024 was iron and steel amounting to US$14.16 million (down 24.46 percent).
