Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade which are reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Goods Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. Commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
Southeast Sulawesi's export value in May 2024 reached US$336.84 million or an increase of 5.46 percent compared to April 2024 exports which were recorded at US$319.41 million. Correspondingly, the export volume in May 2024 was recorded at 234.46 thousand tons or an increase of 1.69 percent compared to the export volume in April 2024 which was recorded at 230.58 thousand tons.
Southeast Sulawesi's import value in May 2024 reached US$116.98 million, up 9.93 percent compared to April 2024 or down 22.55 percent compared to May 2023.
The import volume in May 2024 was worth 227.50 thousand tons, down 25.24 percent compared to April 2024 or down 42.10 percent compared to May 2023.
