Abstract

Southeast Sulawesi with all its natural resource potential has opportunities in foreign trade as reflected in export statistics. Export Statistics Data is obtained from the Export Notification Document (PEB) from Customs and Excise. The commodities that have been Southeast Sulawesi's mainstay include iron and steel and various marine products, while the export destination countries are spread across the continents of Asia to America.
The export value of Southeast Sulawesi in August 2024 reached US$317.87 million or increased by 8.31 percent compared to exports in July 2024 which were recorded at US$293.48 million. On the other hand, the export volume in August 2024 was recorded at 230.18 thousand tons or decreased by 9.66 percent compared to the export volume in July 2024 which was recorded at 254.79 thousand tons.
The value of Southeast Sulawesi's imports in August 2024 reached US$123.65 million, up 13.23 percent compared to July 2024 or down 4.17 percent compared to August 2023.
The import volume in August 2024 was 589.34 thousand tons, up 186.98 percent compared to July 2024 or up 22.10 percent compared to August 2023.
The increase in the value of imports of the largest group of goods in August 2024 compared to July 2024 was mineral fuels of US$33.17 million (up 52.41 percent).
